Set right in the heart of the 'lakes district' in scotland youll find a hotel called loch melfort.
My main reason for writing this is 'work related', if your a traveller and have obtained a visa which allows you to work within the UK then this is a great place to work and meet other like minded friendly travellers.

Located about 25mins from the small harbour of 'oban' on the west coast of scotland lies a cabin style run hotel with 3 suited rooms located within the main hotel itself.

Its a great place to work if your travelling around and wanting somewhere you can get your accommodation and food included plus minimum wages to survive. My room was quite big and you live within the hotel with all the other employers.

Located within the grounds is a botanical gardens which attracts many green thumbs and it also allows you to see some amazing things when it's not raining...
It rains more on the west coast then it does on the right of scotland.

I thoughly enjoyed working with all the other people at this hotel except for the previous owners but non the less they no longer own it and appartenately is even better then when i was there..

A bus service runs once a day to oban which takes about an hour, i recommend taking travel sickness tablets if you feel ill with winding roads as they are lots..
Once in you usually have about 5hours to get your shopping done with a large asda located behind the bus drop off. There is loads of touristy shops for gifts and cards, plus a few internet cafes which are cheap and offer free hot chocolate and cookies.. Oban is a fishing village with fresh seafood the main attraction. If your a lager drinker then you must check out the oban distillery. tours don't cost that much and it gives you an insight on how its all done. You can also take a tour out to the seal colony islands for a day out or you can stay at any one of the many cheap and cheerful B&B's. Other then that you can roam the country side and take in the fresh air!
