Berthoud Pass is south of Winter Park on Hwy 40. We were out backcountry skiing to complete our Avalanche Level I course. Most of us Telemark and a few snowshoe/snowboard. Its great to have the freedom to move around the mountains in the winter.

In January 2007 was a good snow year for Oklahoma. Or a good Ice year I should say. In my neighborhood we had 3 to 4 inches of snow (or Ice). The city basically shut down. So for 2 day, I skied my neighborhood and some of the local schools. Which was interesting trying to ski on ice. I got a lot of strange looks from other people. Hey I was outside having fun and they were stuck inside.

For the holiday weekend, we skied Santa Fe Mtn. I've skied everywhere in New Mexico, but this was my first time to ski Santa Fe. We had a blast on this small mountain.
Before come, check out the snow report www.skireport.com/newmexico
and compare it to Taos and Angel Fire before you decide to make the trip.

Living in the Seattle area for the year of 2006. I skied, kayaked, hiked, biked, and relaxed through good and bad weather. Don't forget the 26 days of straight rain.

We meet up in Vegas (anyone can get to Vegas). We climb, relax, drink, and have fun. Did I mention climb. The best part of Vegas is the Rock Climbing in Red Rocks. Get off the Stripe. Go for a hike, go climb, go bike. Go do anything that is human-powered recreation. But do it with some smarts. It can get a little rough out there.
