Jaffna Archeological Museum Jun 08, 2013
This museum is hidden away at the end of a messy garden behind a concrete events hall. There are a lot of people outside the events hall when I visited this place and some young man pointed out to the back and then a couple of local man come to the museum with me and showed me around and he explains the history and statue inside the museum with his broken English.
There is a rustic Dutch cannons from the forts and a set of whale bones outside the museum, just before enter the museum door. I don’t remember how much does it cost but I have to pay to enter the museum and also give tips to the local man who showed me around.
The museum itself is very small but some nice and interesting stone carving and Buddha statue from the 15th century.
