il Chianti

il Chianti is a Japanese/Italian fusion restaurant in the unlikely location of Lomita. If the concept sounds a little weird, rest assured that the food is of high quality. The lunch specials are hard to beat. For under $10, you can get a soup, salad, bread, entree, drink and dessert. Specials seem to change daily. On the day I went, they had a salmon special and a pasta special. I went with the salmon, which was served with a delicious and oddly complementary tomato-based sauce. Dessert was a cranberry mousse which was a little bit too tarty for me, but still good value considering the whole package was less than $10.

Only drawback is that we had to wait a while to get a seat and the service was a bit slow. Other than that, highly recommended!
