Travel information at a glance Dec 05, 2010
As traveller in New Zealand a visit at the local i-Site is highly recommended since i-Site is New Zealand's official visitor information network providing heaps of significant, interesting and worth knowing information which both make travelling easier and enrich your travel plans for sure.

You can find i-Sites filled with travel information, loads of Kiwiana souvenirs and booking facilities in more than 80 places all over the country, so wherever you travel throughout New Zealand the next i-Site is not far.

These information centres come pretty handy whenever you are looking for more travel inspiration since i-Sites provide a large range of free brochures and maps, weather forecasts and mountain safety information.

Besides all kinds of souvenirs such as traditional (Maori) jewelleries made of jade or paua shell, magnets and bottle openers, wooly socks and sun hats, postcards and Manuka honey creme are available at i-Sites.

Furthermore you can make all your bookings relevant for a smoothly going trip (bus, train and ferry, accommodation) at an i-Site. The staff is more than happy to arrange your amenities for you and give best advices regarding must see attractions and hidden treasures, transport facilities and great places to dine out etc. And if you stay a bit longer in a certain area you might even be interested in current events like theatre plays, exhibitions or music festivals hosted at regional sites – tickets are also available at the i-Site.

When I stopped at the i-Site in Te Awamutu I was very pleased with the attentive and truly supportive service at the desk. Great to chat with a local travel expert who is able to give some extra (personal) ideas of a multi-faceted country such as New Zealand.

All in all i-Sites as officially endorsed visitor information centres guarantee compact information and perfect customer service, and are an ideal starting point of every well-planned New Zealand tour.
