taking the taxi costs about 80 r$ thats 40us$, if your not willing to spend that much you can take a comfortable bus to TIETE rodoviaria that costs you about half that much, tiete is a metro station where its easy to get to the city center, as well as it is a rodoviario where you can find buses to the rest of brasil,
there is even a cheap local bus for about 1us$, that will take you to the next metro station TATUAPE, just look for the metro sign outside the bus, but brasilian local buses are not really suitcase friendly or for big luggage, they've got a barrier to pass through!
