--One peice of advice i give to all women traveling to egypt, esspecially if they are on their own is to wear a wedding ring ! This is for your own saftey. people still get kiddnapped, a high percentage of which is women. to prevent this make it known that you will be looked for if you were missing, by wearing a wedding ring it indicates that you have someone who will be waiting for you and come to find you.
--I also advise taking a spare wallet and fill it with a few egyptian pounds and cards you wont mind loosing. If you get mugged you can hand over that wallet, and still have all you important stuff safe. --Make sure you are never allown in a room with a random man, unfortunatly when i traveled to egypt i met a lovley woman on the cruise who was sexually abused by someone on board the ship, so keep in mind it can happen. --Although not massivley nessasary, try to go out around the town with a man, again it adds that extra bit of saftey...plus you wont get so many marrage offers haha. Saying this however i had an amazing time in egypt, the egyptians are amazing and they do so much to accomodate you, but just like in any other country you do get a few bad apples. keep yourself safe and be confident, thats the trick. |

I switched rooms again at my three-star hotel and the new room (#301) also has a strong air of Cairo’s once-upon-a-time glamour. Unfortunately for me, it’s now 2007 and the place is crumbling. The view from my balcony is of the crazy city below …… Oct. 24th , 2007 – 4U Arabic School |

I checked out the Nile Hilton today. I was so excited in the cab, thinking about this move. I would have clean sheets, decent food in the many choices of restaurants, a fresh smelling room, a clean shower and toilet that work. Wow! What luxury. The …… Oct. 27th, 2007 – Cosmopolitan Hotel |
