How Much Does It Cost to Rent a Car?

Although renting a car may seem like a fairly simple process, there are several things to look out for when it comes to cost.

For example, did you know that waiting until the day of to rent a car can usually cost more money and limit the type of vehicle you get?

We took a look at the costs to rent a car at airports in the three largest cities in the country — New York City, Los Angeles and Chicago - using three well known car rental companies: Enterprise, Hertz and Budget Car Rental.

There are few third party car rental provider which provide cars are lower rate than these suppliers such as : http://www.usacarshire.com, http://www.rentalcars.com, http://www.carsrental.com etc.

The prices, unless mentioned, reflect the cost of booking a car online eight days in advance and having the rental for two days, from 5 p.m. Friday until 5 p.m. Sunday. Unless noted, the prices reflect the purchase of an economy car, typically the least expensive option.

The prices do not reflect all of the extras available, such as GPS, penalties for driving too many miles or returning the car late. As always, prices are subject to change based on date, time, availability and other factors.
