May 4th we went to the WW 1 forts, Fort Loncin and Fort Lantin. Both part of the 12 forts defending the city of Liege in WW 1. The germans of course took the city but they were deplayed by the Belgians, long enugh for the French to mobilize .

4 Day trip to Pisa, Florence and Volterra area. First day was San Gervasio and that area. Then the next day we did the Bus tour of Pisa and then drove out to Volterra. Then the 3rd day we did Florence.

I made a castle blog for the Best castles in the world group, now I will make a Waterfall blog for the Waterfall group.

Ulmen is a town in the Rhineland-Pfalz region. It has several Maars nearby. There is also an 11th century castle.

I'm doing the short local trips first. Then when I get the hang of the blog thing I'll do the big overnight trips We've done.

Day trip to Oostende

Part 4 of my battlefield series is Vimy RIdge. This was a battle in WW 1 between the Canandians and the Germans. Me and my battlefield buddy have been here twice. The first time we just stumbled upon it on our way to the Battle of the Somme. We only saw a few things and promised ourselves we'd come back. We did come back last December.

Part 3 of my battle field blogs is Ypres and Flanders Fields. 3 Major Battles were fought in the Belgian town in WW 1. I've been there 3 different times so I have lots of pictures.
