The station was opened on 1st July 1866 and is located on the Staatslijn E and the Eindhoven - Weert railway line. The station is operated by Nederlandse Spoorwegen.

The station is 900m west of the Philips Stadion.

These are some of the destinations that can be reached from Eindhoven:

Roermond, Maastricht, Heerlen, 's-Hertogenbosch, Utrecht, Amsterdam, Alkmaar, The Hague, Rotterdam, Dordrecht, Breda, Tilburg, Helmond, Venlo, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and Weert.

Eindhoven is a major interchange station for train services in the southern Netherlands.

Eindhoven Central Station is quite nice, but i don't think it's bigger than Utrecht one. And don't forget, the shopping centre is very near the trainstation too, within 5 minutes walk, you can start to shop till you drop ;)
