it was hard living in düsseldorf in the beginning. it is a very posh city. the people are snobby and arrogant and so is the city itself.

i cannot pretend that i am rich hahaha because i am not, but taking out the facade of elegance and class, düsseldorf is a city of free-thinking people, true artists and alternative people.

suddenly, i was opened up to a new world, sure lots of people i know dislike düsseldorf and so is the rest of germany, but after a few years of living, i warmed to it. i get to know lots of people from different walks and status in life and they were so nice to me.

before i was thinking of moving to berlin but now, i would have regreted that decision, because i am for düsseldorf and düsseldorf is for me!

because düsseldorf - YOU ARE THE ONE!

Did the Bürgermeister give you a medal for your patriotism?? Yes, it is a lovely city and what I miss there are the friends and the airport! Gosh, it is hard to live in a small but beautiful town where the nearest international airport is 150km away! So you have made the RIGHT choice! :-))

“Düsseldorf? Why go there?” asked certain people when I told them of our plans for New Year’s Eve. “Surely there are better places to go than Düsseldorf?” And that was the problem. Düsseldorf seemed to have a…Düsseldorf was described as having ‘… one of the world’s most elegant shopping metropolises’ , and even better, I read, it’s Old Town had ‘ more than 260 restaurants an inns…known as the longest bar in the world .’ I was sold immediately… Dusseldorf, Germany - Better than you think.

as ive said in my blog yesterday, i had to go home early because i make waffles in a streetfest the next day :D laughs. ok, aside from learning the complicated german language, i also work part time (student jobs) in a social center run by …one of düsseldorf's top music school played classical music and one of the kids im caring before - akhmed from marokko is in a band and was singing rap and hiphop with german lyrics and with different nationalities as audiences… a muti-kulti fest

dang i just got back from vienna on 25th, worked the next day, got a rest on friday then worked again yesterday. then torben called me last friday, saying that he wanted to meet me and do monkey things again :D - well torben is one of my closes…düsseldorf is one the richest, the most modern and most fashionable city in germany, and it can afford the "city beautification projects" in a short amount of time, so it has a BEACH of its own in the rhine river. perfect with real… today is a beautiful day
