day tour in cologne

someone requested some sights to see in cologne, so i live not far from cologne and i know it by heart, i'd like to share some insights about it:

- cologne cathedral
- chocolate museum
- ludwig museum
- roman-germanic museum (römisch-germanisches museum)
- rudolfplatz for the largest gay nightlife and entertainment in europe.
- köln südstadt - for alternative nightlife and happenings
- the innenstadt (innercity) where thousands of shops, art galleries,
restaurant and bars are located.
- the rhein promenade and the best view of the cathedral is that you
walk towards deutzer brücke (deutzer bridge) and you can see the glory
of the cathedral from afar.

in riding the bus/subway/streetrains - short distance tickets are 1.70 euros (max. 3-4 stations) long distance (approx. 2 hours inside the city premises) 2.20 euris - dont forget to validate at the validating machines before entering the trains or bus. there are no ticket automats inside the trains so better buy a ticket beforhand.

the most beautiful thing in cologne is that there are alot of street artists around the cathedral - puppeteers, street painters, reggae/medieval music and colorful artists you can imagine.
