Parque Nacional Corcovado lies on the Peninsula de Osa in the South-East of Costa Rica.
It is easily reached via the town of Puerto Jiménez where organised trips can be booked.

The national park is characterised by its pristine rainforest and abundant wildlife. The park is protected against logging and mining, and consists eight distinct habitats. During a trek through the park you may encounter abundant wildlife including tapirs, ant easters, monkeys, crocodiles, sloths, ocelots and the park is home to the largest population of the scarlet macaw in Costa Rica.

This was not just a travel, it was a six months job in a sea turtle conservation programme. During this time I could do some shorts travels around Costa Rica and Panamá. The place where we were working was Pacuare Nature Reserve, the best place in the Caribbean of Costa Rica to watch leatherback turtles.
