Countries I've Traveled To
Languages Spoken
English, French and German (with a huge pile of dictionaries and phrasebooks), embarrassingly not Spanish although I live 20 minutes from Mexico, a little Croatian (hardest one yet), and some poorly pronounced phrases in Portuguese, Russian, and Japanese. I'm not real good with languages, but I try...
Interests
Books you might find in my backpack
Music you might find me listening to while waiting for my plane
Most Memorable Travel Experience
Left on islands that submerge at high tide. More than once.
Profile
As a wildlife biologist, so I can usually keep myself occupied anywhere in the world, as long as there are living creatures there. I like seeing cities too, the way office workers go out to see nature on weekends... My other geeky interests are maps and mapmaking. Fortunately, that's another thing I get to do at work - GIS - electronic mapping and analysis.

I have a problem with traveling in that I can't stop once I get going. It can be walking too far down a beach at low tide, to far up a trail as the sun goes down, or ...not getting back quite when planned when I'm on vacation. Much to my boss's distress.

I'm always happy to give advice on my hometown of San Diego and California, or even show you around if I'm in town. I've really liked meeting people from around the world and made friends traveling, so I'm happy to have this site to keep in touch.

Hey,

Thank you so much for the info on Peru! I had an awesome time there. Sorry it took me so long to write back, have been very busy lately and haven't been on here in a long time.

How are you doing?

Haha, camping in one guy's back yard, haha. How big is it then, two by two :D
But it sounds adventurous, haha.
Have fun!

San Pedro
May 25, 2008
This is a suburb of Los Angeles hidden between the port and the Palos Verdes Peninsula. You typically don't end up there unless you miss you're turn on the Harbor Freeway and run off the end... But it's a pretty interesting place.
