super long zip line in the jungle Aug 18, 2011
So I originally went to Costa Rica to do some adventure stuff in the jungle so what better way than sliding across a metal cable a hundred or so meters above the jungle floor. At first it was a bit scary thinking you could get stuck in the middle of the cable and just hanging motionless over the jungle and having to pull yourself across to the other side or the pulley system breaking and having to turn into a movie star super hero and climbing across like a monkey. Fortunately for me that only happened to me once (not the pulley breaking) and having to pull my weight with my hands only, since I was braking too much and lossed momentum. The coolest zip line I went on was a 900 meter cable which I think is probably the longest in the world. Imagine getting stuck in the middle of that cable. That is how a good day turns bad!! :) Another cool zip line I went on was the one in Monteverde, Costa Rica which was called the Superman cable which attaches you to the cable by a pulley on your back so you are face down. That was even scary for me since you are face down above the jungle while you pray you don't fall because if you do.....well you know :)
