Just to let you know, cabs in Shanghai charge different rates depending on the time of day. Something like after 7 pm they are more expensive. The subway is a really cheap and easy way to get around.

Inga and I jumped in a cab after lunch and arrived to mayhem at Beijing airport...
Due to severe fog, there were massive delays to all flights, so we were stranded for 5 hours.
We expected to arrive at our hotel in Shanghai at around 6pm but inste…cab after lunch and arrived to mayhem at Beijing airport...

Politically, China may be a Communist regime, but economically they are as capitalistic as you can get! We loved Shanghai and we shopped and shopped and shopped!
The city itself straddles the upper branch of the Yangtzee river ( I have to look the …cab and headed for the Bund. Most of the people in Shanghai do not speak English, as our lecturer said, "there are billions of Chinese so why would they need to speak English." Luckily our guide book had the names of the places written in Chinese… Shopping, shopping..... |

Arrived in Shanghai in the evening and took a taxi to the hostel and after a few hours, we hit to the captain's roof bar for our first and the last drink fest. haha!! Some guys I already met in the ferry but other 2 Japanese girls, I …cab back to the hostel. It was about 11pm or so but we went to see around the hostel. Shanghai was incredible! Despite the fact that they're technically in the same country as Hong Kong, Shanghai was a completly different place. We spent the day with our friends Tim and Susie. Our first stop was the Bund. A sh…cab ride took us to the major riverwalk area of Shanhai. It was beautiful but we were instantly overcome by the commerce. Everywhere we walked someone wanted to sell us something. They must all have the same supplier because they were all selling… Hawking for life |

yo..so i've been in shanghai for about 2 weeks now...and i had to share some things with you ppl...(not that you care...but i have to vent to someonebut feel free to delete it as i know you guys have real jobs...) cuz ONLY IN CHINA...- can a freakin…cabs have these stupid-@ss plastic or iron shield around the driver. They say it's for their safety against drunks and thiefs. But someone told me that it is actually for when we crash...they are the only ones that survive. - you go to a fancy… Some thoughts about China so far... |
