Free! "Sights & Attractions" in Cali, Colombia
In the west part of the city near the traditional San Antonio area and next to the Cali River, there's a big sculpture of a cat: El Gato Tejada or Gato del Rio. I was checking a map of attractions in San Antonio area and saw a small drawing of a cat. It looked fun and cool, so I wanted to go there. It's located on a park next to Cali River. I didn't know what to expect and found fun finding …

Average priced "Restaurants, Cafes & Food" in Washington, District of Columbia, USA
I've been to every resturaunt on the I Street block, and find myself coming back to New Big Wong again and again. Yes, we first went here because of the funny name, but were sold on the quick and friendly service and the excellent food. Located in a non-descript basement spot, a little more than halfway down the "Eye Street" Chinatown block, New Big Wong specializes in Hong Kong-style dishes…

Average priced "Hotels & Accommodations" in Paris, France
When I was in Paris on 1st May the almost good hotels were already overbooked, so I hardly found a 3 star hotel for the first three days and a 2 star ones for the last day. Hotel Champerret Heliopolis is located close to Champs Elysees, in a very convenient and quiet & safe area with easy access (50m walk) to the subway station (the metro is very, very, easy to get around on and quite cheap) a…

Average priced "Restaurants, Cafes & Food" in Paris, France
I've just got back from Paris, where on one night I ate at the awful Bistro 30, on rue de Severin, near to Notre Dame and the Bd de St. Michel. From outside, the interior of this restaurant looked nice, and the menu looked good. I chose the 16E menu, starting with the goats cheese salad. This was ok actually, a large amount of lettuce, nice vinagrette, 1/2 a ripe tomato, 2 pieces of toasted bag…

Average priced "Hotels & Accommodations" in Swakopmund, Namibia
For two nights we say goodbye to our little camper and move into the Hotel Pension Rapmund in the small town Swakopmund. The hotel has a great location, only a short walk (no more than 3 minutes) to the Oceanside. Plenty of restaurants in the vicinity and a guarded car park in front of the reception, so we can leave our little camper here safe. Our room is big and has everything you would want. T…

Free! "Sights & Attractions" in Cali, Colombia
Located a couple of blocks away of the Main Square, this square is also popular. Empty early in the morning, it gets busier during the day. There you can find food stalls, photographers with fake horses, hahaha, and vendors. This square is surrounded by office buildings and stores, but also by: -San Francisco Church: with a lovely brick front. -Inmaculada Chapel: an old and small chapel, …

Average priced "Restaurants, Cafes & Food" in Praslin, Seychelles
Britannia Hotel and Restaurant is set a bit inland from the Grand Anse Beach and serves the best food on Praslin. It is not the cheapest option, but worth every penny! The food was absolutely fantastic, the service excellent and very efficient. The ambience was lovely, warm and homy and we felt very welcome. We went back several evenings and tried smoked fish salad, fish soup, fish curry, tuna…
