Expensive "Hostels" in Yangshuo, China
The Giggling Tree is very pretty. It's visibly bright and beautiful and tucked in a gorgeous setting.
It's in Aishanmen village (six kilometers south of Yangshuo), which is nice because it is tranquil and remote and ideal for a quiet vacation stay. However, when you do need to get into town (which you invariably will) it is either a lengthy hike or a Y30 cab ride. This isn't advertised, and it …

Cheap "Hotels & Accommodations" in Bangkok, Thailand
This review is for THE HERITAGE HOTELS BANGKOK, part of the Heritage Group. It's the one near Chong Nonsi station. Location is fantastic - literally one minute from the station, hawker stalls, a 7-11, pharmacy, Mc Donalds, a nice Chinese restaurant. Great value for money. Rooms are clean, bright and a nice size. Suites with breakfast area are cool if you need more space. Rate included wifi, breakf…

Average priced "Restaurants, Cafes & Food" in Palembang, Indonesia
Bebek Goreng or Fried Duck is their main specialist, but they also serve grilled duck, fried/grilled chicken and some other local food. This restaurant is from Solo in Central Java as the name of the owner H. Slamet's hometown.
They have their branch in Jakarta, but I tried it instead on my visit to palembang, South Sumatera, which is their 24th branch!
I came here many times in a few days, …

Expensive "Restaurants, Cafes & Food" in Palembang, Indonesia
This restaurant is very famous for its specialty, Sate or well-known in English as Satay, which is originally from Java.
It is a grilled dish of sliced chicken, beef and lamb using bamboo skewers, over a wood or charcoal fire. Of course smoke is around the restaurant with a strong smell. The dish is served with peanut sauce or soy-based dip with onion and cucumber, as your choice.
It is also…

Average priced "Restaurants, Cafes & Food" in Gardena, California, USA
I tried this authentic Japanese restaurant by accident. The original plan was going to Asa for ramen. But it won’t be open until 6p.m. Where should I go? I was very hungry. I noticed that the whole strip malls filled with Japanese shops and restaurants, just like another Little Tokyo. I thought the Japanese restaurants around this neighbourhood would be quite authentic. The sign [さぬきの里…

Make jump of your life in The Netherlands. You can do tandem jumps( And static-line and AFF training here to). While waiting you can have a drink or something to eat inside or out on the terrace and watch movies of people who have jumped before you. The instructor fun and informative. He explained what was happening every step of the way and also told me about things we could see from the plane. …

If you have ever wondered what $84,000,0000 US looks like, this is it! The is the most wonderful library. I am really into libraries. I love books, education, information... A few years ago Salt Lake built a new Main Library & it is gorgeous. I was there picking up books & had my camera & decided to share it with you. Surely some of you are library junkies also... I also had weather background for…

Average priced "Hotels & Accommodations" in Banaue, Philippines
We were able to get hold of this quaint and cozy lodge thru the "Lonely Planet". Though the rates are not as indicated in the travel book, the prices were still very affordable and the food, sumptuous and truly "value for money". Try their pasta dishes, beef salpicao and the banana pancakes for breakfast.
Their older rooms are modest, not to fancy and to some extent, plain. But for the famil…

Average priced "Sights & Attractions" in Memphis, Tennessee, USA
Even though I'm not an avid Elvis fan (I do enjoy his music, though), I felt it was an absolute must to visit Graceland when I was in Memphis. And I am so glad I did. I have a new appreciation for the King of Rock and Roll. Much to my surprise, the mansion itself wasn't as grandiose as I thought it would be. Now, don't get me wrong, it is an extravgantly decorated home that has been frozen in …
