Very cheap "General Tips & Advice" in Zamboanga City, Philippines The airport in Zamboanga, Philippines is in every way a small, regional airport. There are only 4 airlines serving it & none offer direct international flights; you would have to connect through Manila or Cebu. The airport has only 1 runway/landing strip, which also doubles as the taxi-way. It is, however, paved and long enough to accomodate the Airbus 320 jets which are operated by Philippine …

Cheap "General Tips & Advice" in Cali, Colombia
Public transportation in Cali is not a problem. There are many buses - with no bus stops - and taxis.
I didn't drive any local bus while I was in Cali. Actually didn't need to drive much, chose accommodation walking distance to the places I wanted to visit ;)
I took a cab a couple of times and this is something you might find useful: taxis here have taximeters, so you don't need to negotiate…

Average priced "Hotels & Accommodations" in Ocho Rios, Jamaica I traveled to the RIU October 2009 and am already scheduled to return in December. I traveled here solo and the staff enveloped me as one of their own, I went to all the local toursit attractions by day but went home and out with the locals and staff in my evenings. The staff here would do anything for any guest, they look after your safety at all times, they are constantly trying to entertain and…

Average priced "Hotels & Accommodations" in Ladyville, Belize We were in a pinch and needed to find an affordable, decent place to stay for the night. This hotel was close to BZE and provided free transporation to/from the airport. We were pleasantly surprised to find the amenities included a restaurant (with free breakfast), a bar and air conditioning! I was not pleasantly surprised to see a gecko hanging around outside my window.
A double-bed room …

Free! "Hotels & Accommodations" in Ukunda, Kenya I spent 5 nights at the Leopard Beach Resort in a Chui Cottage. The Chui Cottages have views of the water and have a back-yard of sorts to relax in. Very well air-conditioned and super clean. The staff was very courteous. My only minor complaint was that checking out took forever!

Very cheap "Restaurants, Cafes & Food" in Antigua, Guatemala
We loved this place, it has a wonderful unique atmosphere with live music every night, talks given by local charities every Tuesday, excellent healthy food at very reasonable prices, amazing murals on the walls, very friendly service and a book shop in the entrance as well.
We came here at least once every day while we were in Antigua and can´t recommend it enough!

Average priced "Hostels" in Naukluft view, Namibia
Our next stop was the Tsauchab River Camp. This place was about 95 km drive from Sesriem. At the reception we were given the choice between a few photo’s of different campsites, all of them a few km drive away from the main reception building. We chose Naukluft View about 9 Km from the main place. We bought a bottle of wine and some fire wood at the small shop and drove to Naukluft View witch …

Average priced "Sights & Attractions" in Utrecht, Netherlands
Finally made it to visit the Rietveld Schröder House in Utrecht, according to UNESCO “an important and unique icon of western architectural history” and “a masterpiece of human creative activity”.
Arriving at the house (built in 1924), I was surprised by the location and the size of the house.
Originally the house was built at the suburb, overlooking fields and woods. Hard to imagine…

Cheap "Restaurants, Cafes & Food" in Cali, Colombia
If you don't like to eat while you are walking, you can go to one of the many bakeries/cafeterias/eateries in the city.
This review is about the ones in downtown, where we had breakfast. But they are open all day long.
First breakfast in Cali was in a café in downtown. It was big and you could see all the food they offer. There were many locals eating here, so that was a good sign and helpe…
