Several of my co-workers mentioned one of the attorneys we regularly work with is a winemaker...Huh? What? Where? Of course I have to check out his wines myself! Apparently one of his Pinot Noirs was just rated one of the best 30 in the world by Food and Wine Magazine!
The winery has limited tasting room hours on the weekends up in Healdsburg which is somewhere I've been wanting to check out.... (read more about Holdredge Winery)

Mark and I honeymooned for 10 nights at One&Only Reethi Rah in July 2007. We chose it partly because we love One&Only Royal Mirage in Dubai, partly because I'd previously been to what was One&Only Kanuhura with my parents and it was AMAZING and partly because my parents went the year before and said it was more spectacular than Kanuhura.
We weren't let down. The resort is spectacular - MUCH big... (read more about One&Only Reethi Rah)

Since we were coming all the way to South Africa from Canada, we decided to try something we'd never get to do at home.
Great White Ecoventures picked us up in a van at our hotel at 4 a.m. It's a 3 hour drive from Cape Town to the town where their office is located.
We were served a continental breakfast (this wasn't a good idea for some people) before heading out to sea. I'd recommend maki... (read more about White Shark Ecoventures)

One evening, my friend and I were craving something sweet. I recalled her talking about a specific cupcake bakery located in Ghiradelli Square so I brought it up. Didn't take much convincing to get her to come with me to the Square. She had told me that the cupcakes were a bit pricey ($3 each) but definitely worth it.
We got to Kara's Cupcakes and, of course, it was packed. She had warned me a... (read more about Kara's Cupcakes)
