Pleasingly, London has no shortage of quirky, independent, second-hand book shops as a means to counterbalance all of the Waterstones branches (the premier high street book retailer in the UK) that litter its high streets. Daunt Books has got several branches dotted across London. But it is its Marylebone flagship store that comes recommended to the traveller for the rather simple reason that …

Royal Day Out is the annual opening of the State Rooms at Buckingham Palace to the public. The “open house” occurs during the summer months when the Queen is at Balmoral. This was something we really wanted to do on our visit to London and we booked tickets well in advance. (Royal Day Out tickets also include admission to the Queen’s Gallery and the Royal Mews. These two attractions are open…

Very cheap "Restaurants, Cafes & Food" in Zebbug, Malta
On my recent visit to Gozo my cousin and her husband took me for pizza at Franceseco's. A friend had recommended they try the pizza's here so it was a first time experience for the three of us. On arrival there is parking to the front of the restaurant. However, if you did not know the restaurant was here you'd never know as it used to be a house which has been transformed. From the outside it…

As the hotel is not so crowded last years, it is a real pleasure to spend time on its clean beaches. Town …

Cheap "Sights & Attractions" in Mentor, Ohio, USA
The inspiration for visiting Lawnfield, the presidential home of James Garfield, was his biography, “Destiny of the Republic”. Assassinated very shortly after taking office, there was scant legacy left behind to appreciate Garfield, but this recommended book reveals what an inspiring individual he was. Garfield only moved here five years before being elected President and I believe his motiv…
