Cheap "Sights & Attractions" in Wuhan, China
Overlooking the Yangtze River, the Yellow Crane Pagoda (Huang He Lou) is located on Snake Hill in Wuhan, the largest city in central China with over nine million residents. It is one of the “Three Famous Towers” south of Yangtze and the foremost symbol of Wuhan. The complex consists of the five-story yellow tiles and red pillars tower, a beautiful garden park and a shopping promenade. …

Cheap "General Tips & Advice" in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA
I went on my first Cruise with Carnival on the 11. of December.  Departure was from New Orleans, ports of call Cozumel and Costa Maya.  I kept a diary of the day to day, but decided to save all tediousness and get to the point I want to make here. I will begin this missive by including the letter I sent to Guest Relations following the cruise: ...We were both extremely excited about go…

Free! "General Tips & Advice" in London, England, UK
I just came home from my last trip yesterday - went through London Heathrow. The weather is not so nice right now - rain and pretty cold. When I travel and I am not sure about what kind of weather I have to expect I usually take clothes I can wear as several layers  - like an "onion effect" - it always worked for me. (T-Shirts - short and lon…

Average priced "Sights & Attractions" in Turelj, Mongolia
Just 90 km outside of Ulaanbaatar, the Turelj valley offers travelers the first opportunity to see the real Mongolia.  The valley is breathtakingly beautiful, with large rocky mountains littered with boulders balanced in precarious stacks along ridgelines that look like they have been designed for a Hollywood fantasy.  The valley is not untouched, but it is genuine. The nomadic culture o…

Very cheap "Restaurants, Cafes & Food" in Bangkok, Thailand
I think this is the name of the place--either way, you've got to find it! Here, a dessert is a toasted bread slathered in the most amazing butter you've ever had and drizzled with a topping of condensed milk, sugar, yucca root, pumpkin, etc. I bought some off the streets, but this place is absolutely amazing. It must be a local joint as nobody inside was non-thai and it is kind of off the beaten p…

First my rant. For many years this event was called "Christmas on the Prado", but now to mollify all the PC people, this event is called "December Nights". But to me it will always be "Christmas on the Prado"!!!  There, rant over. The following event description is shamelessly lifted from the event web site: Balboa Park December Nights presented by Barona, San Diego's favorite kick-off to t…

The story of the mansion was an incredible one.  Sara Winchester, upon the death of her husband, was told by a medium to move west and build a home for the spirits of the deceased, that had died from the Winchester Weapons.  The Spirit of her deceased husband had informed her that there was a curse on the family, wrought by the Winchester Fortune, and that the only way to stave off her o…
