Ohrid is absolutely beautiful!!! Locals are extremely friendly and hospitable. It is very affordable. The lake is huge, it very much looked like sea :) It is very clear and great to swim in, though cold. Beaches could use some fixing up, the water is a little inaccessible due to rocks. All in all, I would definitely go back, this time by car though :) Check out some pics...

In Berlin - Day 2
posted by:
Jul 25, 2008
Hello everybody, We have safely arrived in Berlin, our first stop. The flight was long and uncomfortable, but what else would you expect? We were really tired after the flight, but managed to walk a few blocks from our hotel and find a restaurant. We ate at an Italian restaurant, so we could at least read the menu, but we were unable to ask for the check or if we could pay with a credit card. So far, of the people that we have talked to, surprisingly few are fluent in English. Lucky for us...

Almost ready to leave!

Two days left of work!  So I'm really down to the wire now and you guys can't imagine how excited I am to finally leave.  I'd given work a month notice - way more than I needed to - because I wanted the extra money and I'm also finishing my Masters this summer too, so I figured it would give me extra time for that.  I'm kinda regretting it now, but in the long run, it'll all work out.  So, I may leave by next week.  I think I have just about everything I need.  I...

Arriving in Bangkok

After a missed flight in Amsterdam, a huge struggle to get on another airplane, a little waste of money, i finally arrived in Bangkok. (yeah)Although tired from the long flight, after checking into the Rambuttri Village Inn in the Soi Rambuttri, I had to check out the famous backpacker mecca of BKK. There i was in the middle of the Kaoh Sarn Rd. Quicked from the smell of freedom (not of the smell of the traffic), the feeling that i'm going to start up into a 2 month adventure through re...

BBQ at Jacobson!

There isn’t much to do in Kigoma which is the main town on the Lake Tanganyika; most of the foreigners here are missionaries, aid workers and very few NGO's. So with my friends (the craziest group in the region (lol)), we try once in a while to change our routine from parties at each other's house to a BBQ at the beach... I say "try" cause we often talked about making it as a tradition, but then... then we opt for house diner/party... So this is one of our few BBQ at ...

We went on our honeymoon to Marakesh.Just 1 week. But for Marrakesh alone, that is more than enough 3-4 days will do.First to start of: DO NOT GO THERE IN SUMMER!We were there in the end of june and experianst heats from 40 to 55 degrees celsius.
