White Island, Camiguin
posted by:
Oct 12, 2007 - Jul 15, 2008
My friend Happy recently spent a vacation in Camiguin and she sent me some photos. My most favorite picture is the White Island. It is a popular sand bar in Camiguin and it is two kilometers off the coast of Agoho, Mambajao. The island offers a picturesque view of Mount Hibok-Hibok and Old Vulcan. Though Happy said that there’s not much to do in White Island compared to Mantigue Island, I still can’t help but wish that I can ride an airplane going to Camiguin so that I can take a picture ...

Beijing, China.... there are different kinds of food to try here, from your regular kungpao chicken to the most unimaginable food that you could think of....There is one street over at Beijing that offers all this kind of foods...The smell of the food was not really the best, but the experience was really different. I was tempted to try one, but i kind of backed off on some of the food they offered, i tried the deep fried starfish and the seahorse, but when it comes  to so...

Sight Seeing in Kansas City: The City of Fountains
posted by:

NATIONAL WORLD WAR 1 MEMORIAL: The tour of the National World War 1 memorial in Kansas City on June 21, was not exactly a guided tour as we were pressed for time and were in a hurry to have breakfast. Our host and guide Mark (travelman727) told us we would stop by briefly for a photo shoot and then move on to the fountains before breakfast. Of course I was one of those who was dying to eat so I kept asking where we would have breakfast. I would have loved to know more about the memorial as we...

The apple of my eye - the reason for Home this year!
posted by:
Apr 13, 2008 - Jun 12, 2008
My daughter DESIRE is the reason for my trip home this year. It has been five years since she has seen my immediate family including grand-ma. She is so much like me- which scares the lil' Jesus out of me sometimes. Have you ever seen a reflection of you so close it scares you? My daughter is one of me. Don't get me wrong, it is a good thing, but there are some things that I do that I would not like her too, heheheheeeee!!! Anyhow, I have included some pictures of her from when she was just ...

The Dam Market

I rented a 125 cc motorbike for 45,000 Dong (US$3) and followed Highway 1 inland skirting the hills south of Nha Trang. Roadside buildings, storefronts, and city traffic gradually gave way to thatch-roofed farm houses and small banana plantations. Traffic became busses, heavy trucks hauling cargo or sugar cane, and ox-drawn carts. Dark green rice paddies were speckled by the yellow cone-shaped hats of squatting peasant workers. My rented Suzuki rattled along the road's edge at ...

Visiting TB Byron (Brashed)
posted by:
Oct 23, 2004 - Jul 13, 2008
This weekend, I went to California to visit my friend Byron who is also a travbuddy (www.travbuddy.com/Brashed). Given the short time I had over the weekend, we did not spend much time in Aliso Viejo where Byron lives (besides the accommodations of course, lol!) I must say he has a great home with such ambiance and style. I found out he likes African wildlife and Egyptian mythology • the combination was quite interesting. Aliso Beach: Beside his house, we also visited Aliso beach which was...

Vasquez Rocks does rock!
posted by:
Jun 26, 2008
Have you ever imagined hiking up a rock without the need for harnesses or ropes? Having a picnic in an 85 degree desert-like enviornment? Pretending you are a gecko scaling a rock with just your bare hands and shoes? Okay, that'd be a little weird, but it can get rather hot in Agua Dulce during the Summer, so don't forget to pack lots of H2O. The hike up the main rock formation was a little scary at first. You almost feel verticle. I must admit, the climb up was a little easier than the climb...

Roaming around the Sierra Nevadas: Madera Travel Photos

I live below the Sierra Nevadas, but try and go up as often as possible to take in some of God's fresh mountain air. I love the smell of pine! There are so many forests, lakes, and meadows to explore. (My dad's also very involved in Search and Rescue. He and his dog Maggi find lost people in the wilderness. Sometimes I tag along with my dog Teddy when they practice).

Unless you are living under a rock, you all know by now about the “fuel crisis” and how it is affecting travel. A surcharge here, a surcharge there, everywhere a surcharge, oh and don’t forget the fees. Every time you turn around it seems there is a new charge or fee for things that always use to be free. In this latest round of sur-feeing, American Airlines decided to start charging passengers for the 1st checked bag. Outraged passengers by the 1000’s or maybe just 10’s wil...
