Cruising on a Sydney Ferry
posted by:
May 29, 2008 - May 30, 2008
This is one of my favourite ferry rides in Sydney. It is a great way to see the harbour by boat and a quick way of making your way from the Quay to Darling Harbour. When I lived in Sydney this was the ferry ride I would bring my visitors on if they wanted to see the city. I like it because you start at the beautiful Circular Quay where there are fantastic views of the sparkling Harbour, the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House; it is a short walk into the historic Rocks area, where there ...

Home again, those 4 weeks in the US turned out to be way too short (who would have guessed ;)). The weather over here sucks, but fortunately my jetlag decided to find another victim by now. I'll be writing some more blogs during the coming days about my time overseas.

Sweden -› Kolmarden, Sweden -› ...
It was late night when we arrived to some place near of Oslo. We really needed petrol in car, but only gas station which we had seen for a long time was closed and cards didn't work in automat. We weren't enough close to Oslo so that we could drive there and try to get petrol from somewhere else so we decided to stay rest of the night on that gas station parking place. At the morning when it opened we finally got petrol and could continue driving. It still took some time to us to ge...

Fresh air at last!

3 girls started off from Oslo monday afternoon, car filled with woollen underwear, waterproof clothing, bikinis and gloves. You never know what the Norwegian summer has to offer, especially not up in the mountains... Got to my friend's cabin at Eidsbugarden in the evening, had some champagne and chatted the night away. Tuesday morning came earlier than expected, but we got out somehow, backpacks on, and headed off for one of the tourist cabins. We didn't want to carry any food, so ...

I think we should call this place Life Valley. There's so many cars on the road, bicycles, and people walking around. I did not see anyone stranded, crawling in the floor with sand all over their hair begging for water - no. It was nice to see flowers growing everywhere followed by the colorful mountains in the back ground.

White water Rafting the Kicking Horse River
posted by:
Jul 28, 2007 - Aug 17, 2007
Today we went rafting the Kicking Horse River with Wet 'n' Wild Adventures. We did the double exitement wich means we combined the half-day trip with the lower canyon. To say it even better, a lot of class IV rapids wich means you will get wet. To everyone who's going white water rafting on the Kicking Horse River, do the lower canyon. It's worth the money. By the way, there are only two ways to travel through the pass. The first one is the way we did, white water rafting. The second more lu...

Finally it´s hot!

I think I´m basically in the middle of nowhere, but I like it. Staying at El Retiro Lodge in a bungalow by the river, it´s very relaxed and quiet. Off to check out the caves in a bit. Unfortunately I have to miss out on Semuc Champey, as the only transport option this week to Rio Dulce is tomorrow morning. A bit sad, but it´s the easiest way to get there, and I dont think I´m prepared to change busses 5 times, as I´ve heard from other people who have done the trip.

We both love the beach and being able to walk wherever we need to go. We've made some great friends there and always have a very relaxing/rejuvinating, yet tiring time.

Living the good life in the Chateau
posted by:
Jul 19, 2008 - Jul 21, 2008
After leaving Arras, we avoided the péage again and drove the backroads towards Saint-Omer and Tilques. The sun came out and things improved. Tilques proved to be a little place in the middle of nowhere, about 10km from Saint-Omer. The Chateau was easy to find and looked absolutely stunning. We were hoping to get a room in the chateau and not in the more modern building next door. We got lucky. We got the room on the top floor, right in the middle of the building, which gave us a beautifull...
