A month backpacking through Egypt, Greece, Italy, France, and Spain with my twin sister. It had its highs and lows, so that made it an unforgettable trip.

This trip comes at a break point in life:
- My business is 10 years old & moving into a new season
- My debut album is finished & getting stocked in shops during jan08
- My wife & I are looking to set up a new biz within activity-based travel
- We're both looking to get more stuck into church projects
We have an opportunity to take a break and get a refresh before it all kicks off again so we're visiting Ecuador, Argentina, Chile, New Zealand, Fiji, and Japan - this is the blog!

This is an 8 month overland extravangza, starting in Peru, and working our way around in a loop to Venezuela via Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil. Some will be on GAP Adventures trips, other sections will be independent - our biggest trip yet! Highlight will be Melissa getting to visit her Uruguayan host family, from her year as an AFS exchange student in 1987 - the first time we've been together in 21 years! (Oh, and a short stay in LA on the way home!)

Had to ditch our van we bought two weeks ago and hire one so we return to continental Europe taking a ferry from Portsmouth to Bilbao in Spain. Have a RH drive van as we will be spending more time in the UK later.

Going through the Middle East in july is a steaming hot experience.
But it also includes some of the most spectacular ancient ruins it the world and stunning desert landscapes all aroud.
It gives you hackling in Egypt and some suprisingly friendly people in Syria.
