Just like last year, we took a road trip for our vacation. We went to Amarillo, TX first to visit some of my wife's family. Then we headed west. We travel part of the way on Route 66, "The Mother Road". We stopped in Santa Fe and then on to the Grand Canyon. Our loop back home took us to Glenwood Springs, CO. That is always a nice place to visit in the summer

Leaving La Paz
posted by:
Jul 08, 1999
My journey out of Bolivia during the civil unrest which had brought the entire country to a grinding halt. A combination of luck, pesistance and stupidity made that I became the only person to travel from La Paz to Puno on 8 July 1999. I have placed this story in a separate blog so that I could zoom in on the map to illustrate the route and add photos. It's a long story, but worth it. Olav and David - If you happen to read this, I'd really like to get in touch with you again.
