Most Memorable Travel Experience
Innocently wandering into a hidden bar in Siem Reap, Cambodia, trying to avoid the usual backpacker haunts, to be greeted with a booming voice and welcoming hug 'Welcome to gay bar!' with thumping mid-90's Scandinavian pop music inside. God bless you Bar Linga! Oh, and the name... subtle guys, real subtle! :-p

Hitting the UK next... followed by a cruise with my partner's family. I have no objection, largely as they're paying, but I'm skeptical about this. I much prefer to explore a place at length over several days than have a day in each port to cram it in.

As you can see, I have a nice green map around Europe. Quite frankly, that's because everywhere looks good! I'm particularly interested in the east however, and reliable info and tourism support for this region is hard to find in Australia.

Thanks also for the hint Aprile, I would dearly love to go overland from Helsinki to Oslo someday, but it won't be this trip unfortunately. Drawbacks of a cruise itinerary... wasn't my idea! We'll see what changes between now and a year's time!

Hey! I see ur going to Finland, good choice:) Just make sure that you vistit more than just Helsinki! If you have time you should go up north, but if not at least go to Turku wich is a really nice city, I definitely prefer that from Helsinki!If you need advice, ask me anything:)
