Love is in the Air: Married TravBuddy Couples (Part III)

We've now arrived to part three in our series of married couples who met on TravBuddy! Rather than spoil the suspense for those who are completely in the dark about one of the remaining two couples, I figured it was finally time to go with the obvious remaining one -- me!
It's a bit odd to write about yourself in an interview type scenario, so I turned to my better half Brett (metsbwd) and asked him to answer the same questions I sent to the other couples being featured. Here's what he had to share about our love story and no, I didn't add anything, these are his words!
1. How did you guys meet on TravBuddy?
I started to become active on TravBuddy right around the time I went to the Dusseldorf meet-up in April, 2008. Very shortly thereafter, I had my first interaction with Erin (poohstanggt), when she congratulated me on my first meeting, first featured TravBuddy Blog, and the Community Leader award. That first burst of conversation wound up with an invitation to attend a meet-up she was co-hosting later that year in Las Vegas.
2. Where did you meet in person for the first time?
Despite a number of personal issues going on with my parents, I was determined to still make the trip to Erin and Melanie's meet-up in Las Vegas in September. I had some conversations with her during the Phoenix meet-up the week before while there on my business trip, while a certain mutual friend (acowboy) was doing his part to help bring us together. Erin picked me up at the airport (complete with my joking request for a financial newspaper and bottle of water), and we’ve been together since!
3. Where did you get married? How long have you been married?
After a few trips together over the next few months (Tucson meet-up, December in Europe, the big New Year’s Eve Meet-up in Amsterdam, and my first ever visit to Napa Valley in January), and -- with my move from the Netherlands to Taiwan looming on the horizon -- I proposed in February, between visits to Dublin and Krakow.
A month later, in the week between moving out of the Netherlands and moving to Taiwan, we met in New York and Philadelphia for Erin to meet my family, and we then flew to Sacramento to pick up the marriage license then drove down to Los Angeles so I could meet her parents. We told everyone that week that we were engaged to be married. The next day, we eloped. We were married on Catalina Island in California on March 27, 2009. It was a beautiful, private ceremony overlooking Avalon Bay. I moved to Taiwan two days later, and Erin joined me for a visit a few days after that, before moving out with me two months later.

4. Did you move a long distance to be with your significant other?
While I did move a long distance, my move was planned before our first official meeting! Erin , in fact, made the sacrifice and uprooted her entire life to move to Taiwan with me! I am eternally grateful (and lucky)!

Like the other couples, I asked if there were any other interesting tidbits to share. Here's what Brett had to say about our relationship and a pretty cool fact about our ties with all the other featured couples in this series!
Since meeting Erin , I have seen a remarkable change in the way I travel, learning how to better appreciate many of the finer aspects of the areas where we now travel together. I used to pretty much run through a city, from sight to sight, never stopping to soak in the culture and cuisine to be found. Together, Erin has taught me to enjoy the fine cuisine, and wine to be found, opening me up to a whole new world of travel, making each visit to a city, whether for the first time or the fifth, a brand new experience!
It is very interesting to note that in the period from March, 2008 through December, 2009, Erin and I have both managed to meet up with at least ½ of every one of the couples that have been married after meeting on TravBuddy!
