It was conceived the idea of creating a reserve of wildlife by Roberto Berger and Ricardo Mata in the year 1975, in order to reproduce and preserve species of the Guatemalan endangered animals.

It has managed to reproduce successfully Guatemalan species threatened with extinction as the white-tailed deer, deer huitzizil, pig-mount, wild boar, jaguars, spider monkeys, capuchin monkeys, red and blue macaws, parrots, and Peric.

Besides maintaining the collection of species from other continents, to collaborate globally with its reproduction, and that in return serves to make them knowed to visitors from the reserve.
