TBH, "dreary" and "depressing" is more a mindset. My whole problem with TX weather was the varying temperature - you go to bed at night with the heater on as it's 30F outside, and wake up to 75F so naturally you're sweating and dehydrated cos the heater is on, plus, the heat itself was physically tiring. And the hotter it is, the more you turn on the AC so that switch btn "hot" (when you're out doing grocery) and "cold" (as soon as u enter the house/car) again was awful. Seattle in that sense is more moderate. Plus, thanks all to all the greenery, the air is a lot crispier here.
