Cheap but fun ride to the Christ's Resurrection Church Jul 25, 2010
I always like funicular railways, this old one is no exception although the ride is very short. It saves some time climbing the hill to the Christ's resurrection church and the ride only costs Lt 0,5 one-way. Tickets can only be bought at the bottom station, the old man operating the train was very friendly, talkative and speaks English very well. There's another funicular in Kaunas, outside the city, accross the river. I haven't been on that one though.

Well, the other one was also closed when I was there. It didn't look broken or so. Maybe it doesn't run during summer at all, there was also almost no one taking the Žaliakalnis funicular when I was there.

Been to the other one (red bottom) this week. The train was out of order. Probably only running during high season?
