Excellent...shame about the bathrooms! Mar 30, 2015
A mere 20 minute walk from the Taj Mahal’s east gate – which in Indian city terms is no time at all – Zostel Agra is a shining example of what a hostel should be. It’s fronted by a green and pleasant lawn, where friendly staff will invite you to join in impromptu games of football or badminton – and topped by a rooftop terrace for sun-worshippers. The rooms are comfortable and secure, with AC as standard, and the common rooms has great décor, a flatscreen TV, comfortable mattresses to recline on and board games.
But, and it’s a big but, the bathrooms are among the worst I’ve experienced anywhere. True, this is India, but with cold showers and perpetually filthy floors, they’re kind of hard to overlook when everything else about the place is pretty much top notch…apart from the inconsistent WiFi, I suppose. Still, very good overall and worth a stay unless you absolutely must have a clean bathroom.
