Zona Hotelera Manzanillo Reviews
Very good service, excellent for newcomers May 05, 2011
If you arrive to Manzanillo and don't know where to stay, here's what you should do. Head to the "Zona hotelera" (Hotel zone), which is by the Boulevard Miguel de la Madrid (the Boulevard Costero), at the Península de Santiago, which divides the two bays of Manzanillo (Manzanillo Bay and Santiago Bay).
There is a cobblestone road that will take you into the peninsula. Right after the checking point, there will be a Tourist information stop. You can ask anyone there, and they will take you to the real tourist information office. Personnel there will help you choose the right hotel (price and ammenities wise) with no extra fees. This is a great option, because driving from hotel to hotel in the Santiago peninsula can be a pain. Once you get your reservation, simply follow the directions to your hotel.
All of the hotels in the peninsula are quite exclusive and prices range from $100 to $200 approximately. All of them have gorgeous ocean view, so all you have to do is decide if you just want a room, or all inclusive, etc. Also, all hotels are divided from each other, so you can't really take long walks in the beach, but just stay at the beach of your hotel.
It is best to have a car, but if you don't, there is a bus that goes through all the hotels in the peninsula.
