Zülpicher Straße - Cologne - TravBuddy

Zülpicher Straße is not a club or a bar itself, it's a street (no, a whole quarter even) of bars, bars, bars and bars again: maybe even some reviews about single ones will follow; this is only information that in case you're looking for bars, this is the place to go! It's well within the city, but it's not in one of the tourist districts cluttered with sights, so you'll find mostly students there.

Take the KVB trains 6, 12, 15, 16, 18 or 19. They go to the Barbarossaplatz, which is quite a large junction of three streets on the "Ringe".

From there, you can walk up Roonstraße (to Zülpicher Platz, and then down Zülpicher Straße), or down Kyffhäuserstraße (turn right at Hochstadenstraße if you want to).
You can't go wrong, any of the streets I just mentioned (Kyffhäuserstr. and Zülpicher especially) are crammed with bars, one next to the other.

Prices are all similar, many of the bars offer cocktails (3 to 6 Euro, they advertise special offers on the sidewalk) and snacks also.

You'll find old-fashioned, smoky pubs; large-sized lounge-style bars featuring large screens (showing live soccer broadcasts mostly); karaoke bars; small nightclubs; punk/rock pubs, Irish pubs ... and so much more. The choice is so large, there is no real need for any further reviews of single locations in this district!
