Zleep Hotel Astoria Copenhagen Reviews
Average staying in CPH Aug 16, 2012
Hotel Astoria is located right next to the central train station in Copenhagen. It's still quite a long walk away from all the "must see places" around the city - except for Tivoli which can be seen from the hotel windows. Me and my friend like walking so distance is no challenge.
The price was average. The hotel was nothing spectacular: a gray building with simple square windows. The athmosphere in the lobby was rather unwelcoming and the girl at the reception wasn't quite fond of flashing a smile for customers... And apparently other members of the staff were alike. During our stay we got never greeted unless we initiated it first.
Our visit was during March and the hotel was empty: quiet hallways and no one to be seen anywhere. Our room was nicely sized with a double bed. The bathroom was ok allthough old fashioned. There was only one small cupboard in the room which sadly wasn't enough. No A/C, only a fan.
The interior was rather amusing in our room: clumsy cheap looking furniture and modern art prints on the wall looked weird with the old and thick wooden door and marble tiled bathroom. The bed was nice, allthough the sheets kept coming off - but I guess that's up to the sleeper. :)
I'd recommend this hotel for anyone who is only stopping by at CPH and wish to stay near to the train (transportation to airport). For a tourist staying in the city longer than 1-2 nights this might not be a good choice.
