amazing!! Jul 10, 2011
A great whistler experience. We did the Beartrail Ziptrek with 5 lines you zip. Longest line is 1100 feet. The whole trail takes about 2,5 hours. Starting with a test zip downtown Whistler. Than they drive you up to the forest. Costt are a 110 CAD per person for the five lines. Not that cheap but worth the money.
The ziptrack lines!

Just do it!!! Mar 14, 2011
When someone asked where i was going for my June/July 2010 holiday and i said it included Whistler, their immediate response was 'for skiing'. No it's summer there at that time!. I guess that is just synonomous with this wonderful place.

So what do you do there in summer? Well if the following interests you, then try ziplining - you won't regret it:

1. Adrenalin rush

2. Nature and fresh air - even if you are cutting through it at 50 mph

3. Learning about the wonders of the natural environment. Have fun AND learn about the ecosystem and its fragility

4. Getting over your fear of heights

5. Getting a helmet head after 2.5 hours

We booked our place via the ziptrek adventures website. You need to get up early to meet the group, register, sign iability waiver etc. You then meet the 2 tour leaders who introduce themselves and you to your safety equipment. You then take the minibus to the starting point. From there it's a short walk to zipline 1. The 2 tour leaders are jovial and tell stories. They also teach you about what is happening to the environment and how despite the fact travellers are enjoying it, what companies are doing to ensure sustainability. Nothing worse than taking advantage of something for monetary gains only.

As you walk through the forest and across suspension bridges in the treetops you breath in the fresh air and wonder how you are ever going back to work!

Each zipline is unique and gets progressively longer. Zipline 1 is straight forward. Lines 2 and 3 go across a canyon above a river. No need to hold on - enjoy the view and take photos (you are allowed to attach a digital camera to your harness). Zipline 4 is the biggie. 2000 ft of sheer speed!!! yesssss

Zipline 5 allows you to be creative. Doing it upside down in a star shapre and videoing it on a digital camera...priceless

We did the eagle tour that cost approx CAD$120. Good value activity that i would highliy recommend

ziplining Jun 18, 2011
If anyone is traveling to vancouver and planning on visiting whistler mountain for a weekend or few days then i highly recommend booking a reservation for the Ziptrek. This was aswome experience and very thrilling. You can do this in winter or summer, but the winter view ziplining is much more amazing to see. This costs about $100 per person and is about 2 hours long over 6 or 7 ziplines. Each one getting higher and longer as you zip across mountians and hike to next one. The guides were great.

Whistler Ziplines Oct 20, 2010
Lots of fun!

Take an adventure in the Whistler mountains & check out the awesome views! You cross the river & trails, as well as getting some facts about the area. Zipline tracks vary in length, but all are quite spectacular. Your guides will strap you in safely to feel secure even though you zip quite high!

Reasobable price, depending on which "package" you choose from. Approx $150-'ish'....Fun thing to do if you have the extra cash !
