Didn't have the best of nights. Our rooms came equipped with mosquito nets above the beds, but what good are mosquito nets when the little buggers can crawl right into it from underneath. It seemed they were designed to keep the mozzies in, rather than out. I killed about 12 of them through the cou…

I did a 4 week overland trip in Africa. from niarobi to Victoria Falls! It was so good, we went through tanzania, stopping at Zanzibar. I did a side trip and went to the serengetti and Ngorongoro crater. then went through Malawi, Mozambique, & Zimbabwe. I had no problems in any of the countries, met some awesome people on the truck. walked with lions, saw cheetahs kill a gazelle and did a bungee jump!

I’ve decided Zimbabwe is a good country to go to if you feel like turning mildly insane. If I could use one word to describe it, that word would be slow. Everything is slow here. But it’s a cheap place to stop between activities.
The Kumuka tour is finished now, which is bittersweet. O…

As I've mentionned, the situation is getting wors and wors in Zimbabwe. And it's killing the toerist business, so that means another disaster for the locals. You must know that when you want to visit Zimbabwe coming from Zambia, you are only allowed into the country if you order a taxi from Zimbabw…

'Zimbabwe, the home of the lion. Upside down trees and great planes of yellow grass reflecting the sun - which is yellow - and radiates the open planes, course with wilder beast, zebras and lions giving everything a Darwinist feeling of belonging to a greater kingdom'

I'm returning to Africa for the remainder of the summer for volunteer work in Mozambique. Other countries included in this adventure are South Africa, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, and possibly back to Rwanda to conclude the trip.

The VFs is much more stunning from ZIM side. You could feel the cool air and "shower" from the Falls.

Two days in Victoria Falls. This blog shows only the day I visited the actual Falls. The day ended with me bungee jumping off the Vic Falls bridge; I'll post those pics later.

We finally made it to Zimbabwe...never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would spend time in Zimbabwe. Culture shock started out with our tour leader having to bribe border control because they were trying to scam the Canadian on our bus to make him pay again because his visa costs the most. …

Situated 8km from Gweru in the Zimbabwe Midlands, the Antelope Park was another picture-postcard campsite on the edge of a river. Very modern in facilities, this is a privately-owned park with a plethora of activities for young and old.
We chose our activities carefully, starting on Day One with a…

Was in Zimbabwe when the whole money thing went down in the capital (third bullet dodged, though this one just barely), so had to change my plans again. This was easier, because I was in Victoria Falls at the time. Simply crossed to the other side of the falls and I was in Zambia. Not that Zambia's…

After 6 months of travelling many things have happened. I saw whalesharks in Mozambique, heard lions roaring in Serengeti, smelled exotic spices in Zanzibar. Froze on the way to the summit of Kilimanjaro and sweated in the deserts of Oman. Met Xhosa people with painted faces in South Africa, sipped black tea with Pakistani workers in the Emirates and walked with Buddhist monks around stupas in Nepal...
