Zhong An Inn Andingmen Hotel Beijing

I stayed in this hotel during the Olympics and it´s a perfect home base from where you can visit everything in Beijing. This hotel is in the middle between the forbidden city and the olympic green. To the subway line 2 takes about 5 minutes walking, but who needs a sub when taxi´s are very cheap (first 3 km is about 1 euro). On the way to subway you'll find a bike rental (must do) and the Park of the earth (Ditan Park).

The hotel itself has all the basic things you need on a citytrip or a businessvisit: a clean room, a good bed, breakfast and an internetconnection. There is also a laptop available in the lobby (for free). Although the Andingmenwai Dajie/Avenue is a busy road, the hotel stands behind a row of high office buildings. You have to find your way through an alley and there is your comfortable and quiet hotel. The big buildings also give a shade which provides the hotel a natural airconditioning in the mourning.

The staff of the hotel is very friendly and are always there to help you. A few of them speak English very well.

Visited this hotel in august 2008 for my last night in Beijing. The hotel is located 300m from central station Beijing, which makes it very easy to reach and a good place to start your Beijing sightseeing.
Staff was very friendly, rooms were not big but clean and had AC, TV and a water boiler.
Overall a good and not expensive stay.
