Zazen Boutique Resort & Spa Koh Samui

So luxury at a luxury price - I guess thats a good deal! The rooms (bungalows) here are amazing, with low japanese style beds, primary colours and deep dark teak wood. A mini-bar and TV come as a welcome bonus after a few months on the road. We stayed here for my then Girlfriends birthday, the staff were really nice, the food was great - although we only ever had breakfast I have no reason to think that lunch or dinner wouldn't be just as nice. It backs onto the upper end of Bophut beach, butthe beach has been taken over with sun loungers - a pet hate of mine. The bar was expensive but the cocktails were nice. You can rent movies (pirated) but its probably just as cheap to go and buy them yourself, all rooms have DVD player, TV and Stereo. The pool looked nice but we never used it (the sea!). The bathrooms come complete with two Siamese fighting fish in seperate glass columns with a piece of paper inbetween, when you remove the paper and the fish see each other they sort of puff up all big and get really angry, we were scared they would explode so always put the paper back quite quickly! The bathrooms are outdoors, private of course, with a great stone shower/bath. A lovely place if you can afford it!
