Zambian Kwacha Reviews
Legal tender in Zambia Mar 09, 2009
I visited Zambia on three different occasions all for pleasure and had a great time there. The legal tender is called "Kwacha"
The Kwacha is divided into smaller denominations called the "Ngwee". Ngwee is a Bemba word for "dawn," which kind of alludes to the Zambian nationalist slogan of the "new dawn of freedom". Zambi ais also the first African country to ever print on pollymer - it printed the 500 and 1,00 bank notes on polymer.
When I visited Zambia the last time, I went to the village of my Bemba friend where I learned quite abit about the bemba traditions - which are primarily bantu based.
