Zaks Wine Pub Bangkok Reviews
Decent Prices and Decent Food Mar 07, 2012
Zaks has only recently opened up on Soi 11, Sukhumvit, and is located right next to the Australian Pub & BBQ, across the street from the Grand President Hotel, and only a short walk from Asoke BTS and Nana BTS.
I took my boyfriend here for an anniversary, and was expecting it to be a reasonably expensive night out. Prices are very reasonable, cheap even given the area - house wines start at 100baht, and bottles are reasonable starting at around 800baht. They also have cocktails and other alcoholic drinks if your not big on wine. The Cosmopolitan was pretty good.
Food was great too, yet we did make a mistake - we ordered the lamb chop, which we assumed would be a meal in itself, and for a cheap price of 295baht we thought we couldn't go wrong. Turns out the lamb chop was a Tapas dish, and pretty much only got one large bite out of it. We then ordered a pizza on top of that, which was big and filled up the space. Sausage and mushroom is worth a try!
The waitress was quick to greet us, and asked whether we would like to sit inside, upstairs on the deck, or outside (street level). We chose to sit outside, which was a mistake for the time of year, as it was very hot and there were no fans - luckily there was a little mist drifting in from the restaurant next door. Atmosphere is great with mood lighting, comfortable furniture, and soft music in the background.
Overall, I was very pleased with the prices, and will definitely be coming back again.
