Fun at youth anna hostel, perissa, santorini Dec 10, 2008
If you are looking for a luxury holiday this isnt the right place to stay in. If you really don't care about that, you should know that this hostel is always full of people (mostly young people) from everywhere so the fun is guarantee.

It's located in the south part of santorini, and the beach is 5 min. away walking so it s good. In Perissa there are not so many restaurant and clubs, but you can easily take the bus or rent a scooter and reach Thera (or Fira) which is the capital of the island or other villages. And considering that Santorini is small you won't have any problems...

The hostel has an internet room but you have to pay to surf.

Generally the hostel isn the most clean I've seen, propably also because of the high number of people who stays there...So considering that you are paying about 5 euros per night and that you are probably going there in summer so you dont need anything more than quick showers and that you dont spend lot of your time in the room, I would say that the hostel is ok.

I totally have a fun memory about that and I made great friendships there so...I recommend it if you don't want spend your money (or you DONT HAVE money to spend, which was my case) for the accomodation ;)

p.s.: I ve been there in summer 2006

Make sure to shower in the ocean! Jun 25, 2007
For what you pay this is an amazing hostel. For only 7 euro a night you get a clean 8 bed dorm with air conditioning! If you are really on a budget you can pay 5 euro a night and stay in the 20 bed dorm in the basement near the toilets with no a/c...yes I recommend splurging the extra 2 euro a night! The only bad thing I have to say about this place is the washrooms...oh dear god! The toilets aren’t THAT bad I guess but they were pretty smelly and I think only 2 of them?? So the morning after a big night out when someone has been sick all over the seat...very uncool! The showers...looking back I wish I showered in the ocean! First of all they are covered in mildew on the roof and in the corners. Then there is no hook or anywhere to put your towel and clothes so we kind of attempted to hang them from the shower rail. There is no FAN so it gets really hot and steamy and it is impossible to dry yourself off. The floor...the hair that is clogged in the drain is just yulck, with a side of yulck! Not to mention what else was “floating” around in there. So if you shower for more than 5 minutes the water does not drain and whatever is in there floats around your ankles! Shower shoes are a MUST in this place. Well now that I have gone off on a little bit of a rant about the washrooms I guess I can get back to reviewing the hostel. The staff are all very nice and very helpful. You can book tours through them for the Volcano etc and rent a car through them as well. They have about 5 computers with internet that you have to pay for. I can’t remember how much but it’s not that bad. At the outside of the hostel there is a covered patio area where everyone hangs out and drinks at night and it’s a really good place to meet people. The hostel is located on Perissa beach and it’s just a short walk to the water. Right across the street there is a cafe that has really really good food and you get a 10% discount if you show your room key for Anna’s. Not to far away is some bars along the beach and down the road is a makeshift “supermarket” where you can buy whatever you need. The hostel is on the southern part of the island so away from Fira which is the centre of the island and very far away from Oia in the north. It’s fairly easy to get to the cities though by bus or by renting ATV’s and exploring the island (which I recommend you should do if you are in Santorini!). The hostel will pick you up and drop you off at the port which is pretty sweet. All in all I would stay here again because it’s really cheap and generally a fun place to be. If I do stay here again I’ll just make sure to shower in the ocean!

This is a pretty decent place to stay in Santorini, except if you're looking for some peace and quiet. Its located very close to Perissa Beach, a few supermarkets, fun bars, places to rent ATVs, pretty much everything you could ask for in Santorini. In June we stayed there and it cost us a mere 7 euros a night(only 5 if you wanted to rough it in the basement with no air conditioning).

Theres a fun patio where everyone hangs out at night and drinks and its really loud. They pick you up from the port and take you back to the hostel too. Theres a really good restaurant across the street that offers delicious and cheap food at a discount if you're staying at Anna's.

The bad thing about this place is the bathrooms. I don't have too big of a problem with dirty bathrooms but this one was pretty bad. The pressure was ridiculous and the floors were always insanely dirty. Here's a tip if you go here though, MIDDLE SHOWER..that was the only decent shower of the 3.
