Waiting for early morning flight, this hotel is good Sep 30, 2011
Maybe I was just lucky, but my experience with Yotel Schippol Amsterdam was good, except the tricky way to find the way out from Yotel to go back to Flight Check-in Counter and drop-off my baggage the next morning.

We can book Yotel hourly at the minimum 4 hours. My flight from Amsterdam to Stockholm was at 6am. I booked the hotel from 11pm to 4 am. Paid around 50 euro.

No clear signboard for Yotel. When I arrived at the airport after city sightseeing, I had to ask the airport information center where Yotel is. I went to terminal 2 , passed the passport control, told them I have booked Yotel, asked them where is the Yotel , and they showed me the direction that is beside McDonald in 2nd Floor. So I looked for McDonald signboard :D

I went up the terminal 2, I came earlier 2 hours than my booking time. No hotel front-desk as I normally see in a hotel. The receptionist was a lady in the Snacks Counter next to Yotel front-door shaped like a plane door. Lucky she greet me so I know that is Yotel. The receptionist allow me to use the room I booked as she said the room is empty anyway.

I found my room (a standard one) was clean, shower have hot-cold water,'flat' TV and all I need for just 1 night stay till morning was there. So I may say I had nice first experience with Yotel :)

In the morning, to go to the Flight Check-in Counter in Departure gate was a bit difficult. I learned that I'd better not asking the passport or immigration control , bcuz I can just go down to the Locker Room with escalator. And from the Locker Room go up to Departure Gate with elevator. Exit the elevator there was another passport control , but they checked my documents in a more simple way than the immigration staff in terminal 2. I might use the hotel again for very early flight in the morning :)

Good night of sleep Apr 05, 2011
I was in Amsterdam Airport but I was delayed for a day because of bad weather in SVO, so the airline gave me free room for a day here. I was exhausted so I slept most of my time here; however, the Yotel in Gatwick Airport have superior shower draining and food.

Hard to find - watch out for hidden charges! Mar 22, 2010
I've travelled over 35,000 miles in the past 18 months and never in this time have I been so disappointed, annoyed and frustrated about my stay. Needless to say I will never be visiting Amsterdam again as long as I live, unless through a connecting flight.

It took me and my partner TWO hours from landing to check in. We couldnt find the Hotel anywhere as it is not clearly signposted. None of the airport staff seemed to know where the hotel was, (even though it is WITHIN the airport) and when we did discover the location, we had a whole lot of trouble getting in.

Passport control took us into the interrogation room and proceeded to question us about why we chose to stay at Yotel. I tried to explain it was just due to convenience of getting a flight home the next day but he was having none of it, stating that it wasn’t usually, “logical” for people to stay there if they were visiting the city. When we managed to pusuade him that we had no ill intentions, he excorted us to check in.

Upon check in, we were told we had to pay an extra €63 because we booked it though a third party website (Booking.com) and were checking in before a certain time. Good thing I had the cash to spare because I think the red light district would have had another worker to its scene.

If you do decide you still want to stay here after reading this, just be prepared to meet the rudest passport control on the planet – just smile with it.
