Back into the bus and on the road again. Our direction today was towards Bass Lake and a big tree or two. Giant Sequoias to be exact, these 3000-year-old trees are the largest trees in the world. We spent two nights staying at Bass Lake and exploring the Yosemite area. We drove into the Mariposa G…

At the end of our hike, my friend and I decided it'd be a great idea to go into the water. It was a sunny day, but we didn't realize that the water was melted icecaps and a frigid 30 degrees. Still we went in, and it was so refreshing after sweating the entire day. The next e…

Words can do no justice to how awe inspiring and beautiful this park is. At the center of it all (and practically seen from every turn) is El Capitan, the largest natural granite surface on Earth. You can climb up the sheer side if you're brave enough. Some actually get stuck…

America has some amazing natural sites, and we have only seen a handfull in our years here. Before we left the West Coast we wanted the chance to see just a couple more, and the first was Yosemite. So yesterday, having packed up all our bags in Seattle and said our goodbyes to all our wonderful…

9 miles, 3150 ft in elevation gain, almost 4000 feet of ascent, 4 gorgeous waterfalls and 2 hitchhiked rides to get back to camp... thus was our trip up to Glacier Point from the Yosemite Valley. Sure, you can drive there if you like, but you'd miss everything in between.
Below is a map …

Went up to Yosemite for the day. Only hiked to Bridalveil and Lower American Falls. The weather was beautiful, green meadows, some wild flowers still in bloom. Ran into a rattle snake too, eek.

My son and I embarked on a adventure to Yosemite National Park 10.24.2009. It was great father son bonding; we hiked 45mi, visited 5 waterfalls, camped overnight in the back of my Jeep Liberty and cooked our burgers and hotdogs using Pine needles and wood, because i forgot the lighter fluid and coles 350mi back at home (pine burgers are great). We saw bears, deers, birds, mountains, waterfalls, and ppl from around the world. We had an amzing time. It was refreshing, clear, relaxing, and fun...!

Pictures from my trip to Yosemite back in 2003 (and some from Aug'06 when I visited with my parents). The first time I went here was for Labour Day in 2003. I flew into San Francisco airport on a Friday, and left for Y'mite on Saturday afternoon. The drive was looooong, and rather boring. the probl…

This was actually my fourth trip to Yosemite. The first was a family road trip when I was about 15 years old and I never forgot that one. Somehow my dad had booked us a cabin in Yosemite Valley; I guess that was much easier to do back then. It was mid-August and I remember floatin…
