We did a military staff ride through the Yorktown Battlefield National Park on 25 April 2008. The weather was fantastic and we learned quite a bit about the most important battle of the Revolutionary War, when the French and Colonialists (Americans) triumphed over the British on 19 October 1781.

While the family relaxed at Kingsgate, I went out to take yet more photos in the afternoon. I traveled up Richmond Road to Toano to get a few more photos (including the Historic Triangle sign and Hickory Neck Church). Rain came up by later afternoon about the time I returned, putting to rest any idea that dd, bf, and I would go mini-golfing at Pirate's Cove. It was nearly dark by the time were ready to venture forth for dinner. 2nd trip here, PERFECT! The fall color was brilliant, our last day and leaves were falling like rain! If you're planning a trip to see color, go mid to late October, you won't be disappointed! I need to upload my own picture, this one, I got online.
