3 words: hen hao chi (very good eating;))

If you are looking for some wonderful authentic foods in Taiwan, this is the street to look on. I lived on the street for 3 years, and found myself exploring the many different options that this street and it's surrounding smaller streets had to offer.

For some notable "xiao long bao" or steamed soup dumplings, go to Ding Tai Feng. And a few doors down, Kao chi is another good place that serves Shanghainese and Cantonese dimsum. For the famous Niu rou mian (beef noodle soup), you can go to Yongkang beef noodle soup. Other wonderful types of asian cuisine/restaurants in the area include a wonderful vietnamese restaurant and zillions of shabu shabu restaurants in the area. But most of all, don't miss out on the little snacks (dianxin), such as Chou tofu (stinky tofu--a must!); chong you bing (scallion pancakes); jiaozi (dumplings with all kinds of fillings) and desserts from Ice Monster.
