Ylang Ylang Beach Resort Montezuma Reviews
Hippie Paradise Dec 14, 2010
Montezuma is not your typical tourist town and it is not a place where you will find the big all inclusive resorts. Its hard to get to and off the beaten path.
Once you get to this little hippie town you check into at the sister hotel in town and they put you in a land rover and take you over the beach to the hotel. That's right, there is NO ROAD to this hotel. When we went in it was high tide and the waves were crashing up on the doors of the land rover as we navigated down the beach.
We stayed in the Beach Front Bungalow
huts facing the ocean. We spent most of the 3 days there in a hammock on the beach just out side our hut. Its beautiful and luxurious in its own way, but very much "in the jungle." When we stayed there the windows had wooden shutters and no screens. They have since added screens.
The hotel staff was beyond accommodating, the food, especially vegetarian fare, was AMAZING! The pool was very nice and there were plenty of activities you could book through the hotel. We took a horseback ride tour down the beach and through the woods to a waterfall. We also had the best massages of our life while we overlooked the pacific in the open air loft/studio above the resturaunt.
If you love nature, and small hippieish towns, and friendly people, or if you are a vegetarian and want to be able to order more than one item on a menu this place is the BEST!
