Yindee Stylish Guesthouse Chiang Mai Reviews
Large rooms, close to town, very affordable! Sep 27, 2011
On my trip second trip to Chiang Mai during the Songkran (Thai New Year) holiday of 2011, my friend found this hotel online. I told her I didnt mind where we stayed, as long as it was cheap, and close to town. It is located in one of the nicest parts of the old town, and only a 10 minute taxi or tuktuk ride to the airport. Also only a minute's stroll away from cafes, restaurants and bars in the heart of Chiang Mai, yet despite this, it was a very quiet location.
Our room was very clean and had a private balcony with mountain views, which even got sun in the late afternoons which was perfect for drying off our clothes after a day of water fighting. We also had a flat screen tv with cable, air con, and the beds were big and actually quite comfy. The bathroom wasnt anything special, but it had a big shower, with good water pressure and even hot water. We had a friend stay with us for an extra night, and it was only 300baht extra for the night, and she was given a proper mattess and bedding. On our floor level, there was also a mini bar-fridge for customers to keep their cold drinks, which came in handy for our beers!
The lobby is very cosy - day beds with big cushions, free wifi for customers, complementary bottled water, and free tea, coffee and fruit all day. The staff were very friendly, and the owner was always up for a chat and recommended places to eat.
The only downside - the owner didnt like us bringing friends to the lobby, as they drank his free coffee.
At 950baht a day for 2 people in high season (we did book at least a month in advance), it was definitely worth every cent, and would stay there again!
