Heaven is:
A Syrian wife
Lebanese food
Emirati citizenship
Jordanian security
Egyptian tourism
A Palestinian neighbour
Saudi taxes
Qatari salary
Hell is:
An Egyptian wife
Emirati f…

Leaving Yemen
Leaving Yemen was sad for me. Sanaa had been my home for 5 weeks. I've never been to a school that's been so cool. Where in the world would you find your teacher wearing a gun holster (with bullet holders) to class?
I also loved the climate in Sanaa ... at about 70…

And here I am in Yemen. Sana'a to be exact. Again!

Last week, I went to Yemen. Now, there’s a sentence I never thought would come out of my fingertips. But I did, despite warnings from absolutely everyone about potential kidnappings and men who carry AK47s to breakfast. But flights were cheap, we had nothing better to do (except move house, obvio…

More than four years ago, in a guesthouse in Aman, I heard for the first time exciting travel stories about Yemen. From that moment there was this plan in my head to visit the southern part of the Arabian peninsula. At the end of last year I found a friend willing to join me, and we booked a 15…

Sanaa, Yemen -› Yemen -› …
Before arriving in Yemen, I had no expectations whatsoever about the country, I thought it would be just another Arab country, boy I was so wrong! When I got to Old Sana'a, I felt like I traveled back in time, at least 1000 years! The people there are really friendly and they enjoy inviting foreign…
