Yelapa Beach and Waterfall Puerto Vallarta Reviews
Small town on the hill with a beach and wayerfall Jul 21, 2011
When I reached Los Muertos Pier, at the end of romantic zone, Puerto Vallarta in the morning at 10.30AM I had 2 options. One on an all inclusive boat to visit 3 different places till evening or a water taxi to visit the small beach town with waterfall on the hill name Yelapa. I have taken the second option and decided to visit all inclusive one tomorrow.
Paid 23USD for the round-trip for the water taxi to Yelapa. Yelapa can be reached only by boats. No road as yet. Also this place got electricity only 6 years ago. Some of the American expats are enjoying their retired life here.
Around 40 mins of the boat ride we have reached Yelapa. On the way we have seen a turtle in the deep waters of the sea. Water taxi stops at 3 different places. First one is a beach-side hotel, second one is at the beach and last one at the town. Almost all vendors speak English here.
Once got down at town stop, walked for about 15 mins through the narrow roads on the hill to reach the waterfalls. Have seen 2 police personnel near the falls. Took some pictures and returned on the way and walked towards the beach.
Had nice lunch with fish at the beach and spent around 2 hrs on the beach. On the way back we have seen some dolphins in group. Fisherman here call these groups as dolphin schooling.
Overall this is a nice trip and recommended the same to all boat ride and waterfall lovers.
